I used to live in Arizona and saw these frequently. They are one of the deserts wonders.

Wow monkey mind!! That is an interesting fact that Agave is a flower and not a tree!!

that thing, that looks like a tree, is the actual inflorescence. It can be to 12 m high. I was told, that these plants blossom once a decade, or more years.
