Lamium Purpureum

Lamium Purpureum

Description:

These are very small- this is a macro shot. The flowers may be about an eighth of an inch in length. There appears to be one bifurcated petal covered partly by a hood. The petal is accentuated with dark purple spots- one on the body and one on each bifurcated section. I have only seen this purple variety. I will have to look through my photos to see if I have a better picture of its leaves.

Habitat:

I see these all over central Utah, in the valleys and canyons, at elevations between 4000- 5000 ft or more.
