Cryptobiotic Soil

Description:

A Cryptobiotic soil is a biological soil crust composed of living cyanobacteria, green algae, brown algae, fungi, lichens, and/or mosses. -Wikipedia

Notes:

It's that darker patch or bubbly earth at the bottom. If you see Cryptobiotic soil never step on it. It is a delicate ecosystem and will not recover quickly. *second photo is not from where I photographed my Crypto, I just thought you'd enjoy it :)
