Perennial plant with yellow pea-like flowers, compound leaves, blooming from May through August.

Habitat:

Meadows or openings in coniferous forests throughout the northern Rocky Mountains from British Columbia to California east to Montana and south to Colorado

Notes:

Animals avoid eating this plant. It is thus probably toxic.
