Btw piñon don't produce cones every year so there may be no cones in ur areas piñon population this year.

Yes the cones are starting to appear on the piñon trees right now. They look like mini pine cones, where the junipers produce bluish berrylike ones.

Not cedar, Juniper, possibly piñon. Check the bark, juniper bark is thin and peels away from tree.
