Radjah shelduck (Burdekin Duck)

Description:

A species of shelduck found mostly in New Guinea and Australia, and also on some of the Moluccas (Indonesian Island). It is known alternatively as the raja shelduck, black-backed shelduck, or in Australia as the Burdekin duck

Habitat:

These birds are part of a flock that live around Mullers Lagoon, with huge flocks of other types of duck, including many migrating birds.

Notes:

They like to sit on tree-branches just above the water during the day.
