the site is quite an accomplishment for a high school student several years ago.

At first, I thought it looked like a Pincushion flower, Scabiosa, in shape and color, but when I looked at the larger photo, it appears the flower is a cluster of smaller flowers, not the entire flower. I'll keep searching.
