I spotted this growing along the road in the small village of Bom Jardin. I've had a tough time trying to narrow it down to the species.

I agree, very true.
I think Wikipedia should adopt information from Project Noah. So they increase non existing specie pages. In many Organism specie cases pictures available but Wiki pages are not find.
Yes, I was thinking B. forficata too. I had that listed in my notes as a possible species. I will go with that.

I think you will satisfy with Bauhinia forticata
Yes, I was looking at them, but many of them have a slight greenish tinge in the centre petal, where my spotting is all pure white.
Have you find pictures for Bauhinia variegata candida
This is a tough one. Maybe I'm being too picky, but I don't see any photos that really match either species. They are look very close but I guess I'm looking for one where the petals narrow very thinly where they all connect in the centre.
I have a picture of the same kind of tree. I have it listed as Bauhinia Sp, but it likely should be alba (which stands for white)
I checked flower structure its same..may Petal are in different shape. I am sure Its Bauhinia variegata. This flower is totally open so felt different.( Bauhinia variegata candida)
no, it's not fragrant. the petals appear different than B. variegata
Wrong guess...non fragrant it is... :p
must be B variegata
must be B varigata
Must be fragrant flower..!!
