I think it is best to be as precise as possible with identification. The name chameleon as applied to anole came about as a way to advertise them in the pet trade, before old world chameleons become popular pets... fortunately these days the old world chameleons are being captive raised and doing fairly well. I had feared they would be wiped out by those wanting such a unique and exotic looking pet

And I would call it a Green anole - any difference?
That's not a chameleon, it's a carolina anole lizard. I like em, they are always impressing me with their head bobbing.
