Papaya tree

Description:

This Papaya tree sprang up in a friends yard. We think it is a male because the blossoms are on extended stems rather than close to the trunk as a female would be

Habitat:

In Florida, I believe the birds spread the seeds. I have two other volunteers in my own garden, one female and one male. They need tropical temperatures to survive.

It is male. This attracts more birds and insects. Ours is a favorite hangout of our resident sunbird :D
