Description:

A mat-forming shrub with course, oblong leaves. The flowers usually have 8 long, white petals and the stamens are bright yellow. When the flowers go to seed, they have a characteristic twist and then they turn into a seed head similar to a dandelion.

Habitat:

Tundra and high alpine slopes
