The tobacco hornworm feeds on plants in the tomato family, so you'll find it in the same places as the tomato hornworm. The tobacco has 7 stripes, while the tomato has 8 V-shaped marks.

Yes Hawk moth caterpillar. Its also called False eye caterpillar.
