Toad-like robust grasshopper.
Flat, shrubby areas of desert.
One of my favorite animal encounters. The body of this grasshopper is very toad-like, squishy and full-bodied. This specimen was found by a fellow naturalist who graciously shared the experience.

Now that is quite amazing, and I love that you pick things up. I'm a bit of a chicken in that department... but working on it.
