These are such fun little guys and they typically live in such pretty country. While it is a ground squirrel, I don't think this is a chipmunk, rather I think it is a golden-mantled ground squirrel (Callospermophilus lateralis). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden-mant... and see what you think.
