Sunflower

Helianthus annus

Description:

The sunflower has a green stem sticking up out of the ground and can grow from 3 to 18 feet tall few leaves growing from it. On top of this tall stem is a bunch of flower petals joined together and a brown center.

Habitat:

Found in prairies and dry, open areas. It grows best in sunny, moist, or disturbed areas. Can grow in 70-78 degrees fahrenheit.

Notes:

the sunflower is mistaken for one big flower when its not.
