Spanish Moss

Tillandsia usneoides

Description:

Spanish Moss is the grey green thread-like stuff seen on television and movie screens to "set the location in the South" of the United States. It hangs from branches and sways in the breezes. It often makes an old oak tree look like it has a beard. I found this bunch on the trunk, which is not where you normally see it.
