Thats very interesting Susan, and yes Cindy, they are definitely Pomelo. I have a lemon tree too and the difference is clear. They are also much bigger than grapefruit and lemons. I've never had a ripe Pomelo before though, i'm too impatient to wait and can't tell when they're ready! :)

Pomelo contains lots of potassium which is good for the heart.
New studies show that limonoids found in pomelo prevent cancer cells from divining better than chemical medicines.

This is definitely a Pomelo. Look at the shape of the leaves.

I agree with Susan...Pomelo's should not taste tart. They are yummy and much sweeter than grapefruit....and huge. If they are not significantly bigger than grapefruit they might be lemons...some lemon varieties get pretty big.

they taste great once ripe..actually sweet and not too tart. in Asia it is very common often presented on festive occasion like Chinese New Year.

You're welcome! They're related to grapefruit.
