Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphiktion
What a fascinating caterpillar Melissa.
Thank you for the info, Bayucca.
This is really amazing.
Amazing spotting Melissa!
Everything OK with BOA, Sergio. In Brazil there is an Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphimachus, Archaeoprepona amphimachus pseudomeander and Archaeoprepona amphimachus symaithus. You do not have Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphiktion in Brazil.
wow!!!! what an amazing creature ... i think its better if you could change the last pic as the first one.....
Thank you, Scott Frazier.
And these spottings (yours and mine) bring up an interesting question: Butterflies of America cites that Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphiktion's range goes from Mexico to Colombia. That is around 5.000 Km from where I found mine! Maybe BOA should change that info?
Wow!! Great find !
Thank you bayucca. Your links helped a lot. No doubt it is an Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphiktion
Thank you Sergio Monteiro. That looks just like it.
That is just about the coolest snake-like dead leaf I ever saw!
Wow! bizarre but beautiful.
Interesting capture !
Moved to Arthropods
Nymphalidae, Charaxinae, Preponini, Archaeoprepona sp. and looks like being Archaeoprepona amphimachus amphiktion.http://butterfliesofamerica.com/imagehtm...http://butterfliesofamerica.com/imagehtm...http://butterfliesofamerica.com/archaeop...http://butterfliesofamerica.com/archaeop...http://butterfliesofamerica.com/archaeop...
