Armadillidium sp.

Description:

Dark segmented insect that can roll into a ball as a defense

Habitat:

Most areas in the yard but prefers moist areas of the garden. This one was buried in the dirt and was discovered when my dog started digging.

Notes:

I picked it up and placed it on my arm under various lighting to take pictures then placed it where I found it. AKA pill woodlice, pill bugs or roly-poly images 1 & 2 show the front image 3 shows the rear image 4 shows the legs image 5 shows the segments

I removed the ID after researching Isopods. I originally had this as Armadillidium vulgare but I don't believe it is. Any help to ID is appreciated.

Thank you Alice. You're such a great supporter of my findings! I took a lot of pics to get these and I had to have it on my arm to help limit its movement.
I may not do that with other small critters :)
