Spiders that mimic ants are common and abundant here in S E Asia. I spotted them all the time. Do not go to my spotting page yet because I haven't uploaded any myrmecomorphy spiders yet.
Hello Nicole, same thing here............. "http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6032940" But your one is much clearer. am also waiting for some suggestion.

Just found this great post about why a spider would want to mimick an ant:

Interesting!
This one looks close to my fellow above, but not 100%

Will keep digging :)
This page might help you with your search, at least to narrow it to certain families: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_mimicry.... Good luck!
Cool, will dig in for a search with my second coffee - thanks! :-D
Ramon is right, it's an ant-mimic spider. That's pretty neat, I've heard of this type of mimicry, but haven't seen it before.
Thanks for pointing that out, Ramon!
Hm, Spiderant?
;-)
I think... it's some arachnid it has 8 legs, the ants have only 6 legs...
Cool critters, have not seen them often :)
