Spider

Cyrtophora citricola

Description:

I'm guessing at an orbweaver only from the markings on the back. It could be something else altogether! I disturbed its web when I was cutting back a plant - unfortunately it had to be done, and it wasn't until after that I realised it had babies which had just hatched. That's why it's protecting the 'nest'.
