Asilidae family
Robber flies are large predatorial flies of the Asilidae family. They have stout, spiny legs, hairy abdomens and large compound eyes. Robber flies use their characteristic short (and solid) proboscis to stab and inject prey (here an unknown unlucky smaller fly) with a neurotoxin. (Wiki)
