Striking! This Greater Blue Wing dragonfly was in a pond while we were touring Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Rhyothemis plutonia is a widespread species, occurring from northeast India to China, and south to the Malay peninsula and Sumatra. Native Countries: Bangladesh; China (Hainan); India (Assam, West Bengal); Indonesia (Sumatera); Lao People's Democratic Republic; Malaysia (Peninsular Malaysia); Myanmar (Myanmar (mainland)); Nepal; Thailand; Viet Nam This species breeds in lakes, ponds and even in the side pools of reservoirs and irrigation channels.
