Do you have pictures about the morphological characteristics of Aulacophora???
nothing to be sorry about aditi. any suggestion and help is much appreciated. :) hehe, and we could be on to something. a new species maybe. ;)
Hey I had an issue with the slight mismatches too- between the leg colouring and the placement of spots on the wings. A. bicolor mostly seems to have two small spots on the upper half and then two larger ones near the posterior end, and I can't seem to find any with only bottom spots like this one. So that might be a problem too.
I also looked up some related species- A. similis and A. indica, but both of those seem to be very uniformly orange; and A. femoralis, which seems to be a bit more promising. This one has variation in antenna colour (although some are orange still)- but none with any dark wing spots.
Sadly I haven't seen enough of these beetles to make any conclusive guess- sorry about that!
aditi, i searched the pics of aulacophora bicolor, all the pics looks similar to the above spotting except the color of antennae of aulacophora are not pigmented like this one's. can it be an exception??
Could it be a beetle of the Aulacophora species? Try Aulocophora bicolor, although it doesn't look like an exact fit.
