try standing away from the subject you are taking the picture of and using your zoom to get close....sometimes that will help you pull off a clearer shot.

it is a bumble bee all right...

I have to admit i struggle to get good photo's of insects which in turn makes it twice as hard to i.d them. It's great to see you getting your son interested in nature at an early age.

I am not sure, as my son is the one learning about nature. We are new to what to look for. We just starting taking pics and now want to research the species.

Hi Tracey, I could be wrong as Canada has over 800 species of bee and the photo could be better, Did the bee have any white marking on it's tail?
