Description:

Small yellow flowers on long stems

Habitat:

Prairie area of the Withlachoochee forest~Native to Florida. The tall native, morning yellow-eyed-grass, is commonly found growing in flatwoods, savannas, bogs, and lake margins nearly throughout Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). Its large and very conspicuous cone-like inflorescences can be more than one inch long. Xyris ambigua blooms from spring to fall and occurs under natural conditions in wetlands.
