Banded Bullfrog

Kaloula pulchra

Description:

Anura; Microhylidae; Kaloula; K. pulchra (Gray, 1831). This Banded Bullfrog is, as every schoolboy knows, is an amphibian. In simple terms, an amphibian is as comfortable in water as it is on land. I mention this because, here in the Philippines, I have noticed that when we have heavy downpours of rain, frogs and toads often abandon their watery habitat (rice fields) and look for dry places to ride out the stormy weather. If you leave your door open, they will very quickly move in and hide in a corner.

Habitat:

I spotted this Bullfrog sitting in the middle of the floor of our terrace, in the evening at about 7:15pm.
