A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Buteo lineatus
This breaks my heart. The hawk photographed was found in my neighbor's yard and had been badly electrocuted. Animal control was called, and though they tried to rescue it, it was in too much pain and was euthanized later that day. I can only guess this is a powerline victim.

Thanks EricGoins, I didn't know about this mission!
That would be a great addition to Birds of Texas mission. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1049...
It was a Red-shouldered Hawk, Buteo lineatus. Shame.
