Malayan Tapir

Tapirus indicus

Description:

The Malayan Tapir is the largest of the tapirs. They have a 2-toned color pattern which actually serves as camouflage as it breaks up their shape. They also have an elongated proboscis which is used while feeding to grab food items. Enjoys spending time in the water Spotted in captivity.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest near a supply of water. Range extends over sections of of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, & Vietnam.
