Large male Pileated Woodpecker Northeast of Cincinnati

Habitat:

Wooded areas with some dead wood

Notes:

I saw a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers on this day, but could not get a decent picture of the other. It may have been a female.

Perhaps. It was a VERY big bird, and it hung out in the area most of the day, jumping from tree to tree to search for food.
