Cyanotis cristata
A small shrub with blue fluffy cotton like flowers which are topped with yellow dots.
Mountains.
Thanks Michaelcali and Scott Rasmussen. Cyanotis cristata is the perfect plant.
Agreed, it's something in the family Commelinaceae; The fuzzy flowers might make it a species of Cyanotis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanotis; http://www.diversityoflife.org/cgi-bin/d...
looks like a species of tradescantia, or perhaps asiatic dayflower (commelina sp)
