Mother and newborn as seen feeding in a small pond on the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island.

Habitat:

Most of Canada, Alaska, and the North Eastern United Stated.

These animals were spotted within 10 meters (about 30 feet) of the road. These animals are often found on the road or near it and can lead to terrible accidents. Be respectful of their habitat and watch for road signs announcing areas where they can be seen.
