Yes I agree, not a gecko. It is Enyalius iheringii, "Ihering's fathead anole" (Polychrotidae). See http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_qu... and http://www.geocities.ws/rsn_biodata/Data...
Not a gecko, it's a iguanid: Enyalius iheringii
