Black and Yellow Argiope

Argiope aurantia

Description:

The underside of a large garden spider. Legspan about 50mm.

Habitat:

Rural area near weedy field.

Notes:

These spiders make no effort to conceal themselves, hanging out in the middle of their webs. There are at least three of them of varying sizes around the office where I work.
