Saussurea auriculata
Looks like the flowers are drying and their season was over in the valley.
Could not have done it without your help monkey mind. Thanks again.
Saussurea auriculata I´d say - you nailed it, congrats!
Monkey mind, looking at the leaves and flower I think Lecanthus peduncularis might be correct.
Saussurea auriculata?
Thanks for the help monkey mind.
they look amazing, reminds me of some dark violet sunflowers - so beautiful - they are Asteraceae family, that´s the only thing I can tell
Hayde thanks for the suggestion, but I guess a thistle has a undergrowth beneath the flower? That seems to be absent in my spotting.
Maybe a thistle?
