Advanced Beetle

Polyphaga

Description:

Black and orange. Some sort of Advanced Beetle (highly developed), Polyphaga. Beetles have chewing mouth parts. Their forewings, called elytra, are hard structures that protect the abdomen and the hindwings (the hindwings are are folded under the elytra when the beetle is at rest). Beetles undergo a complete metamorphosis - from egg to larva to pupa to adult.

Habitat:

Most beetles feed on plant material.
