Ornate/Gulf coast box turtle hybrid

Description:

Found soaking in a pond. Male, around 20 years old, we call him "Derby" because of his flared gulf coast shell. Has ornate markings uncharacteristic of a gulf coast.

I know that's not an uncommon mix. Do they like humidity higher or lower? Are they more likely to be found in areas where there is more open or more in woodlands? Curious what they act like.
