Wild Basil

Clinopodium vulgare

Description:

Dense, rounded cluster at the top of a very hairy stem. I believe this is the fruit part of the plant. During summer, this plant has beautiful, tubular purple flowers.

Habitat:

Spotted in a meadow on the edge of a deciduous forest.

Notes:

The dried leaves can be used as a seasoning. The plant is also purported to have many medicinal qualities.
