Spotting

Description:

smaller than a grouse, very much white on the under belly and leggings, seemed hyper-skittish a bit like a fish out of water :)

Habitat:

Sited in sub alpine forest, 35 miles from alpine forest.

Notes:

I believe this to be a female White-tailed Ptarmigan

Rock and White-tailed Ptarmigan are relatively small with lots of white. Both are usually only found above timberline.
