2 Garden Slugs in a mating dance
I've moved these terrific slugs from the Arthropod category to the Other category for you. Snails and slugs are Mollusks. Arthropods have an exoskeleton and jointed limbs in at least one phase of their life. Think dragonfly, bee, crab, and ant.
And THAT is the definition of awesome! Great spotting and I'm envious that you got to observe this. :-)
I'm pretty sure they are leopard slugs
