Pink Lady's-Slipper Orchid

Cypripedium acaule

Description:

Wild orchid growing in the Maine woods. There are four species in Maine. The Pink and the Yellow are more common. The Ram's Head and the Showy are considered rare.

Notes:

Found while on a camping trip. Picking Lady's-Slippers is highly discouraged, and in some cases, illegal. So this one was left in peace.
