Young Honey Mesquite

Prosopis glandulosa

Description:

As the monsoon season rages on in the desert, it was nice to find these guys eager to sprout out of the ground. After about a week, it became obvious that these were fledgling mesquite trees! Even at this stage, their roots must be considerably deep into the earth, maybe about four times their height above ground.
