Uau, que lindo Binho!!!!! Quero conhecer essa árvore!!!!!achei a estrutura do fruto incrível!!!
Tabebuia aurea, reference: book Árvores Brasileiras V1,Harri Lorenzi, pag 45.
P.young and dandoucette, I found the tree and the fruits that when opened drops the seeds... but I could not identified.
The fruit measure around 25 cm and has short thorns..not sharp.
P.young, the Alsomitra macrocarpa really looks like the seed that I found, but in the video in youtube, the Alsomitra macrocarpa looks to be more resistent then the ones that I found. Thanks for the information...
I love these 'hang-gliding' seeds. Nature really does come up with anything and everything.
Rubens, I found this on the internet I was looking for something else and I saw this similar seed called -Alsomitra macrocarpa.
p.young713,
I found these seeds in a track inside a forest and I could not see the tree that was seeding this...they are carried very far with the wind ...next weekend, I will try to discover.
I saw 2 similar seeds in Southeast Asia, not sure about the Brazilian species.
