Ant mimicking jumping spider - male

Myrmarachne sp.

Description:

Its hard to identify whether this fellow a spider or an ant by first sight. if look closer we can see that he is waving its front pair of legs as the antenna of an ant, any way male spider is easy to identify because of his long chelicerae but female spider without them are very much similar to the ant that they use to mimic , Weaver ant in morphology.

Notes:

I first got to know about this spider by a PDF sent to me by Adarsha , a Project NOAH friend, Thanks Adi......

Wonderful! If you see it again could you get a video? It would be neat to see it acting like an ant. Wish we had those here!
