Great Blue Heron

Ardea herodias

Description:

Great blue heron juvenile possibly with gray back and wings with burnt red brown at shoulders and a cream and brown dappled chest and under net.

Habitat:

Shore line, surf, abundant fresh or salt water. Estuaries, wet fields, tropical wet forests, bayous and swamps, Mangroves.

Notes:

I think it's a juvenile great blue heron but possibly a tricolor, though pretty large.

I think you are right that it is a Great Blue. Tricolored are a bit smaller than Great Blues.
