A grasshoper nymph found roaming the grass in my yard along with possibly its adult family members.
That little black dot in his eyes looking right at the camera tells me he was on guard, and as soon as I made the slightest zoom in on my camera, he got into jumping position. Highly sharp beings! He was about six mm across.

I believe this is in the Gomphocerinae family. Possibly Chloealtis abdominalis
