Nilgiritragus hylocrius
The Nilgiri Tahrs are stocky goats short, coarse fur and a bristly mane. Males are larger than females and have a darker colour when mature.
The Nilgiri goats inhabit the open mountain grasslands of the southern part of the western ghats in the rainforests eco regions of India. These Tahrs are conserved mainly in the Eravikulam National Park where they can be seen in large populations.
