Yes you're right, although, I don't understand why call it a praying mantis if they're ALL praying, it's like calling birds "winged birds" or human "headed human"!

I do not think calling a Praying mantis wrong if it seen in position of Praying with its front legs. have you checked links with European mantis..?

AshishNimkar- i read in Wikipedia that a lot of mantis species are being referred to as "praying mantis" by accident. do you know what are their characteristics?
i just dont want to rush into conclusions :)

Its Praying mantis, dark mimicking colour shade for mix with surroundings and grab easily a prey insect.
