These Rocky Mountain Goats are in a group of Goats that still has some DNA puzzles. They are not a member of Capra the True Goats. Found only in NA. Sure footed; Both Sexes have horns and beards; Males are larger than Females; Able to withstand -50* F /-46* C; 3' / 1m at the shoulder; Weighing in at 100 - 300 lbs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_go...
Alpine delight... from Alaska down thru Canada, Montana, Wyoming and more but not much !
We are pretty much guaranteed a looksee at these Alpine beasts in mid Summer up in the Beartooth Mtns of Southcentral Montana. A good 2 hrs from downtown Billings or 1 hour from Red Lodge, Montana, over the Beartooth Highway to Cooke City...which means you have to go through Wyoming to get back into Montana. It is a gorgeous drive in the Summer.

Thank you Sandra. It's 10,000' already covered in snow... and the first big freeze down in the 'valley' of Billings, MT 3400' happened last nite... and freezing every nite for the next several 25* tomorrow nite! The Banana Crop is done there will be no 3rd:) ,. The Great Plains Toads are asleep for the next six months. And its long johns 'n window scrapers, shovels and mittens till March.
Needless to say i'll be wishing this was just a hot rock come Dec. Can't wait for the Cinnamon Teal and American White Pelicans to return.
It's unfortunate that people are to lazy to set mouse traps... nothing imported has worked anywhere to solve these type issues. Feral Cats have decimated entire populations world wide.
