Boyds Forest Dragon

Hypsilurus boydii

Description:

Boyd's Forest Dragon is a lizard with large pointed scales on a crest behind the head. These reptiles spend much of their time perching on the side of tree trunks just one or two metres from the ground waiting to ambush prey Size: head and body length of about 15cm with its long tail adding another 30cm to total length

Habitat:

Only found in the rainforests of north eastern Queensland. Spends most of its time in trees

Notes:

Food: Beetles, spiders, crickets, ants, earthworms. Breeding> Lay one to six eggs in a shallow hole
